All of us have felt sluggish before. There are obvious reasons we might not feel as energetic as we could feel, like when we didnt get as much sleep as we should have, or our diets may not be as balanced as they could be. To try and boost our energy, we turn to coffee, energy drinks, protein bars and a whole host of other temporary solutions, none of which actually solve the real problem.
Mitochondria in our cells act as the engines which produce the energy we need to move, think and even repair damage. These organelles take in nutrients, break them down and create the energy rich molecules that power us up throughout the day. Muscle cells specifically require a larger amount of energy than other cells, so they contains loads of mitochondria to be efficient. In fact, 90% off all the energy that our bodies need are produced in the mitochondria.
Day in and day out, we stress our bodies to the limit and in turn, put stress on our cells. This stress causes an imbalance of pH in our cells, which is DIRECTLY tied to how well our mitochondria function. When mitochondria stop functioning properly, the cell itself starts to die which can lead to alzheimers, stroke, or even worse
